TradingView alert limits, and how to get unlimited price alerts

TradingView limits how many alerts you can keep active, and the free plan allows very few. Here's how to spend those slots wisely and move simple price alerts somewhere without a cap.

Why you run out of alerts

Every TradingView plan has a cap on active alerts. At the time of writing, the free plan includes only a handful of price alerts and no alerts on indicators, and each paid tier raises the cap. The current numbers are on TradingView's pricing page.

Traders hit the cap fast, because most alerts are simple: “tell me if BTC drops below this level”, repeated across several coins and levels. Each one takes a slot.

What's worth keeping on TradingView

  • Indicator and strategy alerts: RSI crosses, moving averages, custom Pine scripts. This is where TradingView is hard to replace.
  • Alerts on markets outside crypto, like stocks, forex and indices.
  • Webhook alerts that feed a bot or another service.

What you can move elsewhere

  • Plain price levels and moves on crypto pairs.
  • Percentage moves, like “ETH moved 3% since I last looked”.
  • Unusual activity: funding flipping, liquidation waves, volume spikes. TradingView doesn't alert on most of these out of the box.

Unlimited crypto alerts with Traders Window

Traders Window is a free Mac widget that keeps these alerts locally, on your computer, with no cap and no account:

  • a move threshold per coin, in dollars, percent or σ, the coin's normal hourly swing, so “2σ” means unusual for that coin;
  • funding flips, liquidation waves and unusual volume;
  • a pulsing frame and a sound that repeats until you dismiss it, plus optional alerts on your phone.

Prices stream straight from Binance about once a second, so the alert fires as soon as the move happens.

A practical split: keep your indicator and strategy alerts on TradingView, and move every “price crossed X” alert to the widget. Most traders get their TradingView slots back without upgrading.
