What will funding cost or pay you if you hold a position? It uses the coin's current rate, as if it stayed the same.

      What the numbers mean

The funding rate is a small payment between traders of a perpetual future, settled every few hours, that keeps its price close to the spot price. When it's positive, longs pay shorts; when it's negative, shorts pay longs. The exchange doesn't keep it. A full explanation is in what is the funding rate.

      • Funding is Binance's current rate for the next payment. It keeps updating until the payment is made.
      • Annualized is the rate times the number of payments in a year, without compounding. It makes 1-hour, 4-hour and 8-hour coins comparable.
      • Every is how often the coin pays. Most pay every 8 hours, at 00:00, 08:00 and 16:00 UTC; some pay every 4 hours or every hour.

      How the payment is calculated

Payment = position value × funding rate. The position value is your size at the mark price. A $10,000 long at +0.01% pays $1 at each settlement, or $3 a day on an 8-hour coin. You only pay or receive it if you hold the position at the moment of settlement.

      How traders use the table

      • Crowding. A very high rate means many traders are long with leverage. That can keep running, but crowded positions are also what gets liquidated when price turns.
      • Cost of holding. At 0.1% every 8 hours, a long pays about 110% a year. Check the annualized column before you hold a trade for weeks.
      • Sudden changes. A coin whose rate swings from normal to extreme within hours usually has something happening. The funding alert guide covers what to watch for.

      If the table doesn't load

The data comes straight from Binance's public API into your browser; this site has no server. Binance blocks its futures API in some countries, including the United States, so the table can't load there. The calculator still works if you type the rate yourself.
